The Basic Law stipulates the ultimate aim of selecting the Chief Executive and all Legislative Council Members through universal suffrage. It is the common aspiration of the Central Authorities, the HKSAR Government and the public at large to achieve universal suffrage. It is also a constitutional responsibility and an important policy objective of the current term Government.

We sincerely invite the community to express their views on universal suffrage for the Chief Executive election in 2017 and the 2016 Legislative Council electoral method. We can take forward Hong Kong's democratic development together.
